How to restore ordinary text
Use a visible before-and-after check when cleaning styled characters.
Start with known mappings
Paste the styled text into the cleaner. The tool reverses the supported alphabet mappings and shows the output beside the original. Unsupported characters remain unchanged. This is deliberately narrower than indiscriminately replacing every unusual character, which could damage names or non-English text.
Optional cleanup has tradeoffs
Decorative combining marks can sit on top of or below letters. Our optional cleanup targets a small set used by the styling tools. Invisible joiners are different: they can join emoji or participate in script shaping. Removing them can change meaningful text, so the invisible-character option is off by default.
Review before replacing
Check capitalization, accents, names, numbers and symbols. Some styled characters do not preserve case, and different original characters can have similar appearances. Keep a copy of the original if the text matters. The cleaner does not promise to decode every alphabet, transliterate a language or prove that two strings mean the same thing.
