Frequently asked questions
How do I copy an emoji?
Click or tap its tile. The selected character also appears in a text field below the results. If your browser does not allow automatic clipboard access, select that field and use your device’s Copy command.
Does this include all emoji?
It includes every fully qualified emoji sequence and emoji component from the Unicode Emoji 17.0 data file, including flags, skin-tone variants and joined sequences. Future Unicode releases may add more. Older devices may not display the newest choices.
Why do I see a square or separate people instead of one emoji?
Your device’s font or the destination app may not support that sequence. The copied text can still be correct even when its picture is unavailable. Try an older emoji or a simpler variant, and check it on the destination device.
What is the difference between an emoji and a special character?
An emoji usually has a pictorial presentation, while a special character can be punctuation, a mathematical sign, an arrow or another text symbol. Some have both text and emoji forms. Their appearance is controlled by the receiving app and its fonts.
Can I copy flags and skin-tone combinations?
Yes. Each listed variant copies the whole sequence, including its joiners and modifiers. Search for a country, profession or skin-tone name to find a specific result. Avoid deleting part of the sequence after pasting.
Are my searches saved or uploaded?
This catalog filters on your device and does not send your search words for processing. Copying uses your clipboard. Optional copy history, if you enabled it in the generator, is stored in this browser and can be removed on the privacy page.
Can I paste these into a username?
That depends on the destination’s rules. Display names, bios and messages often allow different characters from account handles. The picker does not guarantee acceptance; paste and check before saving.
