Choose a symbol by meaning, not just appearance
This picker is for writers adding punctuation, directions, mathematics or a small decorative accent to a message. Search โrightwards arrowโ for โ, โcopyrightโ for ยฉ or โinfinityโ for โ. A code point such as U+2192 identifies a character even when two fonts draw it differently. Search that code to find the exact entry.
The collection contains visible punctuation and symbols, not every Unicode letter, control code or invisible character. Formal names help distinguish a minus sign from a hyphen and a multiplication sign from the letter x. The code point is reference information; the copy button copies the actual character, not the U+ label.
How to copy and paste special characters
- Search or choose a category, such as arrows, currency or mathematical symbols.
- Click a tile. Its exact character, name and code point appear below the grid.
- Paste into the intended document, bio or message. Keep a written label when the symbol carries important meaning.
If copying is blocked, select the character in the field and use your deviceโs Copy command. Appearance and character acceptance depend on the receiving app. A successful copy does not make a restricted username valid.
Text symbols versus emoji
A text symbol is drawn by a font; an emoji may be drawn as a colored picture. Some characters support both presentations. This page keeps the character sequence in our symbol catalog intact, so it cannot force a destination to use a particular color or glyph. For a fixed appearance in a graphic, use Text to PNG and inspect the image.

Does this contain every special character?
It contains 1,544 named visible punctuation and symbol entries from our catalog. It excludes many Unicode letters, invisible formatting controls and unassigned code points. Use the complete emoji picker for emoji sequences.
How do I search a Unicode code point?
Enter U+ followed by its hexadecimal value, such as U+2192 for the rightwards arrow. You can also search the character itself or its name. The copied result is the symbol, not its code label.
Why did a symbol turn into a box?
The destination may lack a font with that glyph. Try a more common symbol or ordinary wording. Copying the same unsupported character repeatedly cannot install a missing font.
Can I copy symbols into WhatsApp or a bio?
You can copy the characters as text. The destination decides whether its specific field accepts them and how they look. Keep links, handles and essential instructions in ordinary text.
Are these HTML codes?
No. These buttons copy Unicode characters. A U+ code point and an HTML entity are different representations; this tool does not generate HTML markup.
